Our Moving Services
We are not just local movers. We handle residential moves, long-distance relocations, corporate moves, and everything in between.
Here’s what we offer:
Local Moving
In-city moves across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. We know the neighborhoods, the permit process, and the building requirements that come with moving in this city.
Residential Moving
Home moves of any size are handled with care. Apartments, condos, multi-bedroom houses, we treat your home like it matters because to you it does.
Long-Distance Moving
Relocating out of Illinois? We handle interstate moves with clear written estimates and the same hands-on approach as our local jobs. Properly licensed for interstate moves.
Corporate Relocation
Office moves and employee relocations handled professionally and on schedule. We work around your business hours to keep disruption to a minimum.
Labor-Only Moving
Already have a truck or container? We supply the crew. Loading, unloading, or heavy lifting – no truck requirement, no package upsells.
Packing Services
Full packing, partial packing, or just the items you don’t trust yourself to wrap. We bring all materials and handle everything carefully and clearly labeled.
Why Once Upon a Move
Three things set us apart from the larger moving companies in Chicago:
Owner-Operated
Alex built this company from the ground up and still runs every aspect of it. When you hire Once Upon a Move, you’re working with someone who has a personal stake in how the job goes.
Properly Licensed
We carry the proper licensing required for both local and interstate moves. You’re not handing your belongings to a company cutting corners on compliance.
Personal Touch
You are not a number on a job board. Every client gets the same level of attention regardless of move size, from the first call through the last box placed.
